You agree to the privacy policy below, and the Privacy Policy for Substack, the technology provider.

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 26, 2026

Nextions, LLC (“Nextions,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes The Space Between, including Nextions Impact, related essays, podcasts, comments, and other publication content (collectively, the “Publication”).

We respect the privacy of our readers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Nextions receives through the Publication, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Our Privacy Commitment

In plain language:

  • The Publication is hosted by Substack.

  • Subscription and engagement information generated through the Publication is kept within Substack.

  • We do not export that information into the Nextions CRM or other external marketing systems.

  • We do not sell or rent subscriber information.

  • We use subscriber information to deliver and manage the Publication, communicate with readers, understand engagement, and improve our work.

  • You may unsubscribe at any time.

Substack also processes information for its own platform purposes under its separate Privacy Policy.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Information?

Nextions, LLC is responsible for the personal information it controls through the Publication, including the Publication’s subscriber list and personal information included in reader comments or other submissions.

Substack, Inc. hosts the Publication and processes certain information on our behalf. Substack also independently collects and processes information for its own platform operations, recommendations, security, analytics, and other purposes.

Substack’s independent practices are governed by the Substack Privacy Policy, not this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Receive

Depending on how you interact with the Publication, Nextions may receive or have access through Substack to the following information:

Information You Provide

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Your subscription status and preferences

  • Comments, replies, survey responses, or other material you submit

  • Information you provide when contacting us about the Publication

  • Any profile information you choose to make available through Substack

Please do not submit confidential, privileged, proprietary, or highly sensitive personal information through comments or other public features.

Subscription and Engagement Information

Substack may make information available to us about how readers engage with the Publication, such as:

  • Email delivery status

  • Email opens and link clicks

  • Posts viewed

  • Subscription, unsubscription, and referral information

  • Comment and community participation

  • General readership and engagement statistics

We use this information to operate the Publication, understand what is useful to readers, improve future content, and maintain the health of the subscriber list.

Information from the Prior Nextions Impact Mailing List

Some readers originally subscribed to Nextions Impact before the Publication moved to Substack. Subscriber names, email addresses, and relevant subscription preferences from that prior mailing list were transferred to Substack so Nextions could continue delivering the same publication through its new platform.

Nextions may retain separate pre-existing contact or business records created before this migration. However, new subscription and engagement information generated through The Space Between is not exported from Substack into the Nextions CRM or other external marketing systems.

If you no longer wish to receive the Publication, you may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email.

Information Collected by Substack

Substack may automatically collect device, browser, cookie, usage, location, account, and technical information when you visit or interact with the platform. Substack determines how it uses this information for its independent purposes.

Please review the Substack Privacy Policy for details about the categories of information Substack collects, its cookies, its service providers, its automated systems, and your platform-level privacy choices.

3. How Nextions Uses Information

Nextions uses personal information available through the Publication to:

  • Deliver essays, newsletters, podcast announcements, and other subscribed content

  • Communicate about the Publication or material changes affecting it

  • Respond to reader questions, comments, and requests

  • Moderate comments and maintain constructive community spaces

  • Review readership and engagement information

  • Improve the clarity, relevance, accessibility, and usefulness of our content

  • Detect or address misuse, infringement, fraud, security concerns, or technical problems

  • Maintain records required for legal, compliance, or operational purposes

  • Protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Nextions, our readers, contributors, and others

We do not use Publication subscriber information for unrelated Nextions marketing campaigns. If we wish to introduce a materially different use in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice or choice required by applicable law.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires us to identify a legal basis, we process personal information on one or more of the following grounds:

  • Consent: You have chosen to subscribe, comment, respond, or otherwise provide information.

  • Performance of a requested service: Processing is necessary to deliver the Publication and manage your subscription.

  • Legitimate interests: Processing supports the responsible operation, improvement, security, and protection of the Publication, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

  • Legal obligations: Processing is necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, or establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.

You may withdraw consent or object to certain processing as described below. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.

5. When Information May Be Shared

Nextions does not sell or rent Publication subscriber information.

Information may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

With Substack

Substack processes subscription, delivery, engagement, hosting, security, and related information to operate the Publication and its platform.

At Your Direction

Information may be shared when you ask us to do so or consent to a particular disclosure.

For Legal or Protective Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request

  • Investigate or prevent fraud, infringement, abuse, or security threats

In Connection with an Organizational Transaction

Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or similar organizational transaction. Any recipient would remain subject to applicable privacy obligations.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Nextions does not currently add its own third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies to the Publication.

Substack uses cookies and similar technologies to provide its platform, remember preferences, measure performance, maintain security, and support other functions described in its Privacy Policy. Substack may provide cookie controls in certain jurisdictions. You may also manage cookies through your browser settings, although disabling necessary cookies may affect platform functionality.

7. Data Storage and Retention

Publication information is stored and managed through Substack.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Maintain your subscription

  • Provide the Publication

  • Respond to requests

  • Maintain appropriate operational records

  • Comply with legal obligations

  • Resolve disputes or enforce agreements

When information is no longer reasonably needed, it may be deleted or anonymized, subject to Substack’s technical processes, backup practices, and independent legal obligations.

Unsubscribing stops future Publication emails but may not immediately remove all records associated with prior deliveries, legal compliance, security, or platform operations.

8. Security

We take reasonable administrative and organizational measures to protect the personal information we control.

Because the Publication is hosted through Substack, much of its technical security is managed by Substack. No online service or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

If you believe information associated with the Publication has been compromised, please contact us promptly.

Please write Privacy Request in the subject or opening line and identify the email address associated with your subscription.

Requests concerning Substack’s independent platform processing should be directed to Substack through the procedures in its Privacy Policy.

10. California Residents

California residents may have rights under applicable California law to request information about the collection, use, disclosure, or sharing of their personal information; request access, correction, or deletion; and opt out of certain sales or sharing.

Nextions does not sell Publication subscriber information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

California residents may submit a request using the contact process above. Any rights will be provided to the extent required by applicable law.

11. Readers Outside the United States

Nextions and Substack are based in the United States. If you access the Publication from another country, your information may be processed in or transferred to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Where applicable, readers may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, United Kingdom data-protection law, or similar laws, including rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent.
