You agree to the terms of service below, and the Terms of Use for Substack, the technology provider.
Terms of Use
Effective Date: August 26, 2026
Welcome to The Space Between, a publication produced by Nextions, LLC (“Nextions,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of The Space Between, including its essays, newsletters, podcasts, recordings, graphics, downloadable materials, comments, archives, and related content published through Substack or any associated website or platform (collectively, the “Publication”).
By accessing, subscribing to, or using the Publication, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not access or use the Publication.
1. Relationship to Substack
The Publication is hosted through Substack and is also subject to Substack’s applicable terms, policies, and platform rules. These Terms govern your relationship with Nextions and your use of content belonging to or licensed by Nextions.
If these Terms conflict with a mandatory Substack platform requirement, the Substack requirement will govern solely to the extent necessary for use of that platform. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights Nextions retains in its intellectual property.
2. Ownership of the Publication and Its Content
Unless otherwise expressly stated, the Publication and its original content are owned by or licensed to Nextions, LLC and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Protected content may include, without limitation:
Essays, newsletters, articles, commentary, and other written works
Podcast episodes, audio recordings, transcripts, and video
Original frameworks, models, illustrations, charts, graphics, photographs, and designs
Downloadable tools, worksheets, questions, exercises, guides, and educational materials
The selection, arrangement, presentation, and compilation of Publication content
Publication names, series names, logos, visual identities, and other source-identifying elements
The names Nextions, Nextions Impact, The Space Between, Thinking Smarter, and associated names, logos, taglines, and designs may be trademarks or service marks owned by or licensed to Nextions. Access to the Publication does not grant you any ownership interest or license to use those marks.
Content credited to a guest author, photographer, illustrator, publisher, research source, or other third party remains subject to the rights of its respective owner.
All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
3. Limited Permission to Read and Share
Nextions grants you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the Publication for your personal, educational, or internal professional use.
You may:
Read, listen to, and view Publication content
Save a reasonable number of articles for your own personal reference
Share links to publicly available posts
Use Substack’s ordinary sharing functions
Occasionally forward an individual newsletter to a small number of people for personal or professional discussion
Quote brief excerpts for commentary, criticism, scholarship, teaching, or discussion when accompanied by clear attribution to Nextions, LLC and Dr. Arin N. Reeves and, when reasonably possible, a link to the original publication
This permission does not authorize systematic forwarding, republication, commercial distribution, or use of the Publication as a substitute for an authorized subscription, license, program, or engagement.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict rights that cannot legally be waived, including lawful fair use.
4. Uses Requiring Written Permission
Unless applicable law expressly permits the use without authorization, you must obtain written permission from Nextions before you:
Reproduce or republish a complete article, newsletter, transcript, recording, graphic, worksheet, or other substantial portion of the Publication
Post Publication content on another website, newsletter, database, application, learning-management system, intranet, document repository, or social-media account
Distribute Publication content to a mailing list, professional association, firm, company, classroom, conference, client group, or other organized audience
Incorporate Publication content into books, articles, presentations, courses, training programs, consulting materials, assessments, software, products, or paid services
Translate, adapt, dramatize, abridge, modify, or create derivative materials from Publication content
Sell, license, sublicense, monetize, or otherwise commercially exploit Publication content
Use our names, marks, visual identity, or content in a manner that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or authorization
Permission for one use does not constitute permission for any other use. Additional licensing terms or fees may apply.
5. No Scraping, Dataset Creation, or AI Training
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you may not use the Publication, in whole or in part, to:
Scrape, crawl, spider, harvest, download, extract, index, mirror, archive, or systematically collect content through automated or manual means
Create or supplement a database, corpus, content library, benchmark, knowledge base, retrieval system, or training dataset
Train, fine-tune, ground, test, evaluate, validate, or improve any artificial-intelligence, machine-learning, natural-language-processing, or automated content-generation system
Generate summaries, adaptations, imitations, derivative works, or competing content at scale
Develop a model, product, or service designed to reproduce Dr. Arin N. Reeves’s writing, voice, likeness, frameworks, analysis, or distinctive style
Use Publication content in retrieval-augmented generation, embedding, vectorization, or similar computational processes
Circumvent technical measures or instructions intended to control automated access
No license is granted for text and data mining, machine learning, generative AI training, or similar computational use. Any such use requires a separate written license from Nextions.
This section does not prohibit the limited automated processing that Substack performs to operate, secure, and maintain its platform under its agreements with publishers and users.
6. Attribution Does Not Replace Permission
Attribution is required when permission to quote or otherwise use content has been granted, but attribution alone does not authorize copying, republication, commercial exploitation, AI training, or another restricted use.
Changing wording, formatting, medium, or presentation does not necessarily make an unauthorized use permissible.
7. Reader Comments and Submissions
You retain ownership of original content you submit through comments or other interactive features. By submitting content, you grant Nextions a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, moderate, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, archive, and discuss the Publication.
You represent that you have the right to submit your content and that it does not infringe another person’s rights or violate applicable law.
You may not submit content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, discriminatory, deceptive, invasive of privacy, commercially promotional, or infringing. We may moderate, remove, or decline to publish submissions at our discretion.
Please do not submit confidential, privileged, proprietary, or sensitive information through comments or other public features.
8. Educational and Informational Purposes
The Publication provides research, commentary, reflection, and general educational information. It does not provide legal, medical, mental-health, financial, tax, employment, or other individualized professional advice.
Accessing the Publication does not create an attorney-client, consultant-client, coach-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship with Nextions, Dr. Arin N. Reeves, or any contributor.
You are responsible for evaluating how the information applies to your circumstances and for obtaining appropriate professional advice when needed.
9. Third-Party Sources and Links
The Publication may discuss, quote, cite, or link to third-party materials. Those materials remain the property and responsibility of their respective owners.
Links are provided for context or convenience and do not necessarily constitute endorsement. Nextions does not control and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, or practices of third-party websites or services.
10. No Warranties
The Publication is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Although we work to provide thoughtful and accurate material, we do not warrant that every item will be complete, current, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nextions disclaims all express and implied warranties relating to the Publication, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nextions, Dr. Arin N. Reeves, and their employees, contractors, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance upon the Publication.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Enforcement and Termination
Nextions may withdraw permission to use the Publication, restrict access, remove comments, report misconduct to Substack, or pursue other available remedies when we reasonably believe these Terms or our intellectual-property rights have been violated.
Unauthorized use may result in claims for injunctive relief, damages, licensing fees, costs, attorneys’ fees, or other remedies available under contract, copyright, trademark, unfair competition, or other applicable law.
Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive our right to enforce it later.
13. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Publication that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms periodically. The effective date above will identify the most recent version. Your continued use of the Publication after the revised Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the greatest extent legally permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
